I definitely wanted him to crack her, but not in the way it happened. This could have been an awesome story with a few tweaks. Then the lead protagonist went from being strong and independent, basing her decisions on her own happiness to being reduced to a scared insecure girl. I thought I finally found a PNR with a legitimately strong female character. It's infuriating when a good story is performed by an awful narrator. She detracted from the story and I was extremely disappointed to see that she narrates the entire series.
